Hello All,

I´m playing in the German Beta and if I start Mappi I get the error message: "No zones with locs were seen".

Can someone post an example of a log from the English Beta please, so I can switch the appropiate words in my logs with a normal editor, so Mappi that Mappi will work with my logs?

Thanks in advance,
Utgaard

Mappie looks for the following string patterns in log files:
(Date stuff)] You have entered <ZoneName>
(Date stuff)] Your Location is <####>, <####>, <####>
Basically, everything after the first closing braket is evaluated, the string after " You have entered" is used for the zone list, and the location is after "Your Location is" (This string is case sensitive, although L in location can be lower case for eq2 compatability)

I've learned that EQ2 has a different order for all the location info, and possibly the map too. I've sent an email to SoE asking for some assistance in testing map info, but so far no luck.

Doesn't look like Mappie will be able to properly support EQ 2 until I manage to raise enough money for a copy when it comes out. :(

Thanks for the info, will test this again with my logs.

Can I help you with logs etc as long as you don´t have access to EQ2? I mean, the translation till now is really bad, most info in the logs are still in English and not translated, just the Loc-Info were ;)

Any help is appreciated!!

What I am looking for to best help with EQ 2 support is this list:

An EQ2 Map file.
A screenshot of that map in game (Just the map window is fine.)
A Log file snippit with locs and zoning info (I Have english one, German one would be good too.)
The first two are the big ones I need... I need to know how the maps Should look to know if I'm getting it right... I've recieved emails that some of the locs are backwards from EQ1. Maybe I'm just rude or something, but when I release a new version I want to KNOW that it works and not just Hope that it works.

Thanks! =)

No prob, you can have all of this ;)

Should I post the logs here in the forum an include links to the graphics (webspace available, so this would be no prob for me), or should I mail you these files? If so, I need an email from you - the one at the bottom of your website dosn´t work (even if I delete the anti-spam end ;) ).

All the above are fine, My new email address is in the about box of the latest Mappie.

I won't post it here, because it would then be available for automated virus engines to find it easier... =/

Logs (original German and translated One to work with Mappie), InGame Map-Screenshot an the corresponding map-file from SOE are on the way to you.

Thanks! I've recieved them okay...

I have another question!

With EQ2's map being so different... graphic and all... Does EQ2 use the maps Mappie generates at all? Or is it a handy referance on 2nd comp ?

Personally - I've totally been using it as a reference on a 2nd computer.

There is no way that I know of to actually affect the in game maps for EQ2.

Alright then... I'll the focus on improving the active-display and log watching.

Hopefully all these mid terms will lighten up a bit and I can actually code a little.

Thanks!

Think they could be incorporated, at least the complete UI is in XML, so it must be possible.

I personally use the maps as reference - drawn in mobs, npc´s and so on tho make find them easier for some of my friends, who don´t find their way out of 3 trees :D

Yeah strictly second PC watching logfile for me. Antonica is one big ass zone and trying to find an NPC in Qeynos is a pain.
